Open source client
Acala’s client is open source and can be found on their github repository.
Sudo pallet
Acala still employs the sudo pallet in their runtime, however there is an on-chain verifiable transaction that moved sudo privileges to the Treasury, which democratizes sudo and effectively removes it. This is a temporary measure to give the team time to clean up the code, and the pallet should be removed altogether sometime in the future.
Collators
Acala still has a private collator set and are in the first phase of their collator rollout plan listed on their wiki.
Council
While there are multiple councils and collectives in Acala governance, the general council, which appoints members to 3-out-of-4 other councils and collectives, is selected by the Acala Foundation.
